There's a generalized formula for how much profit/loss you get for each upgrade. Recruitmient/upgrade costs change based on perks. Just plug your gold/influence per troop in up top. As a general rule at low values tier 3 troops sell for the most and tier 4 troops are profitable at high merc prices (210+). The best policy if you are the ruler of the kingdom is Royal Guard. With this policy, you can increase your party size by 60. This is one of the most powerful effects in the game, as number superiority in Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord battles can go a long way. The downside to this policy does not even affect you if you are the ruler, but even if Money makes fighting, building, and ruling possible with money in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord. The expenses are plenty, but cash may run thin. To keep up with costs, we need to find the best way to obtain money. These are useful and important throughout the entire game. I think the best way to make sure your workshops are making money is to look at the resources of surrounding towns and build a shop that utilizes recourses that are plentiful in the region to decrease materials cost. For example, in Khuzait you'd most likely make a wool weavery because it seems like every town produces sheep in Khuzait. If you need money, try smithing. Trade takes time so i don't do it. Quest gives some money if you stack them and do them on peace time. On war time, best thing is to fight lords, sell prisoners and loot. 1 lord with 100 units can give you 10k denars. Raid villages or join a siege defense. The best quests for making money are: Poacher quests: Nets you extra resources. Caravan escort quests: Follow and protect a caravan as it travels. Expect a fight. Smuggling quests: Nice payoff, but you run the risk of being caught and you'll lose some goodwill with the town in which your crime takes You gotta gain that influence. I make my money from war, and when the war ends I’ll improve my fiefs, and attack bandits. Once I’m low on funds I’ll use my influence to encourage my nation to start another war. Join an army, destroy the enemy, and enjoy the loot. I’ll get around 150,000+denars by the time the war ends. The only other way I know is smithing which I’m terrible at and don’t really understand is there any other ways to make money that aren’t through war and smithing. Smithing is the best, caravans and workshops help with passive income, but selling loot is a good non-skill way. Build yourself a little merchant scheme. Buy low sell high. L6L5l.
